I went to visit Tasmania for a month in August/September and I saw the world! Everything I could wish to see, do and experience I did in magical Tasmania.  On an island about 450ks by 350Ks, we travelled over 4600ks around this picturesque paradise, navigating every highway, road and track that took our fancy. Apart from the constant breathtaking scenery I [...]

Hi. Our West Coast Discovery started with a rather bumpy ride on the boat to Devonport! Well worth it to bring our Subaru and head for the rugged West Coast, Tarkine wilderness, beautiful Corrina and finally, The Gordon River paddle. Our first night spent camped on the beach at Black River was spectacular, a beautiful sunny [...]

My last visit to Tasmania was in the summer of 2005. During this trip (among other things) we did a lot of white water kayaking.  We have previously walked the Overland Track and spent a week rafting the Franklin River. This time my husband and I wanted something a bit more intimate. We headed of [...]

It was raining, it was cold, and I’d just been immersed over my head in freezing cold water. So why was I grinning like an idiot? I’d just completed a 4-metre high cliff jump into one of the pools down Devils Gullet, a huge gorge and world heritage area just east of Mole Creek in [...]

The peace and quiet, the water so still the reflections are perfect, what an amazing place to be out on the water. Always in sight of Mount Rugby, the waterways are a piece of magic in the southwest corner of Tassie. I avoid using the word pristine, but I think it’s the only way to [...]

What I like most about Tassie Ever since sailing down to Tassie when I was about 15 with some friends, I’ve fallen in love with her friendly, laid back lifestyle – everyone is just so genuine and full of character!  The other great thing about Tasmania is that no matter where you are – even [...]

What I like most about Tassie I love the laid back lifestyle, where you can go for road-trips, take stunning bushwalks, sample local beers and wine, and pig out on some of the best and freshest local produce in the country. Some of my favourite places I love the rugged coastlines. From the wild west [...]

What a great holiday location for the whole family. I spent 3 nights at Salt Water River Convict Beach House with my two young boys prior to Christmas. From our accommodation we could take a leisurely stroll across to Little Norfolk Bay at dusk and walk along the shoreline or paddle around in the kayak. Playground and [...]
